Through supporting regional and global networking strategies, EMIL provides an overview of the role and status of IL and broader intergenerational practice by collecting, exchanging, and distributing ideas and resources in the field.
EMIL has achieved this through:
- Providing examples of good practice developed within European policy and practice;
- Recording and distributing existing findings from IL projects across Europe;
- Encouraging the mutual exchange of ideas and contribution from a wide range of stakeholders throughout Europe, and beyond.
Through the development of this coordinated approach, EMIL provides a resource for practitioners, policy makers and researchers in the field to support the future development of IL and ensure that existing practices are well documented and disseminated. Overall, EMIL aims to deliver an evidence base, funding stream and resources to establish the foundation for a permanent and sustainable ‘European Intergenerational Learning Network’.
