Hello everybody,
I have been involved in education in later life for thirty years now and I have contributed much to the theory of education in later life. I thought I knew what active ageing means: having the choice and possibility to continue working as an older worker, being able to meet one's psycho-social needs and not being exposed to "social death" after retirement, participating in social and economic development before and after retirement, taking on one's part of reponsibilty and being able to enjoy the fruits of the development. Today, my impression is that active ageing needs to be redefined and that active ageing depends very much on intergenerational cooperation and learning, But then, do we understand what interegenerational cooperation means nowadays and what is more do we understand what intergenerational learning is? Let's discuss it. Dušana
