Summary: We understand translational research as an intended effort to both (i) transferring knowledge from research environments to practice and policy contexts, and (ii) rendering research language into practice and policy languages. This effort shall be geared to the ultimate aim of fostering beneficial intergenerational practices and policies.

1. Integration of research, policy and practice
This thematic working group reiterates the fact that there is an urgent need for the integration of research, policy and practice within the field of Intergenerational Studies. We aim to make a small contribution to the evidence-base on which practitioners and policy makers, who are seeking to improve intergenerational relations, might draw. In order to do so, we suggest that providing user-friendly summaries of key findings from available research, suitable for dissemination to policy and practice audiences, is a necessary step in this endeavour.

2. Importance of theoretical considerations to IL
This thematic working group seeks to highlight the need to amalgamate theory into practice and provide a way in which this can be successfully achieved.

3. Dissemination of intergenerational evaluation research
This thematic working group has as well a purposeful and specific interest in helping to disseminate and make more accessible those results from evaluation of intergenerational programmes relevant to improve these programs in the future.
